Portraits of porn stars at work. This series of 20” x 20” oil paintings on iris prints on canvas grew out of the Blue Paintings. Once upon a time, I was very interested in how rapture was rendered in Renaissance paintings of saints. The Gaze paintings recontextualize that interest by inverting the “male gaze” in overlapping dynamics of voyeurism, viewership and subjectivity.
I threw in a couple self portraits for good measure.
